| Over half of the field were first-time ultrarunners, who certainly could have picked an easier course for their initiation. This run became a bit of a mudfest, and some course markings had been washed away by the previous night's rain. However, the run went off with nary a hitch thanks in large part to the work of the NEODeads (Northeast Ohio Dead Runners) at aid stations.
